Study series #1: Outfit #1

Hey girlies so this weekend I have planned on doing as much school work as possible so I don't have to worry about it over the week. I want to have everything done before going back to school after half term, but I do want to relax and have some fun as well, hence why I am hoping to get all of my work done today and tomorrow. Although, just to contradict that, I do plan on filming for my media coursework and spending an hour a day on my English Literature coursework. But the rest of it will be completed tomorrow.
Anyway onto today's post, which is what I wore today.

Obviously it isn't all that exciting because I wasn't going anywhere but this is what I wore:
Top: just a plain white vest top from Asda George which cost about £4
Bottoms: Just some plain navy sweat pants from Primark and cost about £8-ish, I've had them a while so I don't remember.
I left my hair down today but normally I would have it in a bun or in a top knot just to keep it out of my face.
On my feet I actually didn't wear anything but I do normally wear my fuzzy socks just to keep my feet warm.

This outfit is just a really comfortable outfit to wear whilst studying, there is no 'faffing' about just really simple and easy to wear.

Just thought I would share where I ended up studying, because I took a break to eat my lunch so I sat on the floor then was too lazy to move again ha-ha. I am actually planning a study series so I will go into more detail about my study habits then. But that is just a sense of where I studied today.
Just realized that this could be the beginning of that series! Ah great plan Kim!

Anyway I am off for a nice relaxing bath after a hard day of studying and I will talk to you all tomorrow.

How to survive early mornings

Hey girlies how are we all?
I wasn't sure whether or not to post this today or not but I decided that I would because I miss blogging. Plus I may be procrastinating but shh.
So as you can tell this is about how to survive early mornings. This is especially good if you, unlike me, are not a morning person. I know it is nearing the end of October and you all have your own morning routines sorted but in my opinion you can always improve things. I am always looking for tips on how to improve something I already do.
So onto my tips:

First of all I suggest getting up at the same time every day that way your body can adjust to getting up early. By getting up at the same time every day you get used to it and you aren't as tired when you get up, although I know that sometimes you just can't wake up. Try getting up at this time 7 days a week, or if that is too daunting I suggest still setting an alarm for weekends so you are still getting up at a certain time. Your body will appreciate it.

Following on from time, I would also suggest going to bed at the same time every night as well, but I know that isn't always possible. I know that for me I go to bed at a different time every night, just depending on how I feel, but I do try and stick to a rough time, say between 10 and 1 works for me, but it is entirely your choice the time you go to bed. Obviously I wouldn't stay up too late, because you do need to make sure you are getting enough sleep, because if you don't it is not only bad for your health, it is bad for your skin and can make you grumpy and no-body wants to speak to a grumpy person.

If you want to sleep that little bit longer I suggest doing these two things:

  1. Shower at night. If you are like me and take 20 minutes in the shower then another 20 minutes moisturising and getting dressed then showering at night will save you so much time in the morning. Even if you only take about 10 minutes to get showered and dressed, it is still that extra 10 minutes sleep which is always good, especially if you are staying up late doing essays for school.
  2. Get everything organised before going to bed. That means if you take your lunch to school, make it the night before. Choose your outfit and lay it out ready to put on when you get up. Make sure your bag is organised and has everything you need for the next day in it. If you change your make-up on a daily basis, decide before going to sleep.
That leads me onto my final point, keep make-up simple to save time putting it on in the morning. Save the extravagant make-up looks for when you have more time to get ready, i.e. weekends. This will, again, mean you can sleep that little bit longer. You don't even have to wear make-up to school, but I know it might seem like an unthinkable option to some of you, which is why I said simple make-up.

Over all I think the best way to survive early mornings is to do everything you can the night before. Honestly it saves so much time.
If you are a night owl, and you follow these tips you will soon become an early riser. As your body gets used to waking up early, you start to feel more alert first thing in the morning. And soon you won't have to rely on that morning coffee to give you a kick start because your body is already awake.

I hope that this post was helpful. Leave me your tips on how you survive early mornings in the comments below, I love getting new tips and improving everything I do.

Talk to you all soon!

Oh My Gosh Guys I have a new laptop! :D I am so excited to have my own laptop again.

It feels like so long ago since I last updated this blog but I have so many ideas. Before my old laptop broke I had an idea to do a back to school series but obviously I won't be doing that, however I do have a bunch of ideas that I am going to do. And they are:

  • Tips on being healthy/ health series
  • Outfit of the day series
  • What I bought series
  • Organisation series
  • Motivation tips/ 'My Motivational wall'
  • In's and Out's
  • Skin Care routine
  • How to survive early mornings
  • Winter essentials series
  • October favourites
  • Nail of the week series
As you can see I have a few series which means I will be able to do my 'blog post' schedule again of at least 3 posts a week.
If there are any posts which you would like please feel free to leave them in the comments below.
I am really excited to start writing again, I really have missed it so much.

Talk to you all soon!

So Sorry

So I know I promised at least 3 posts a week apart from when I was away, and I have been back over a week now and this is my first post. But I promise I have a really good excuse, my laptop has actually broken, for good I think. It will not switch on. Instead it goes to a blue repair screen then shuts down when it can't repair :( I am extremely upset about this because I don't like not having my own laptop (I'm using my dad's at the moment) plus I have lost all my pictures! Yes I know! "How can you not have backed it all up!?" but I was getting round to it when it stopped switching on. Although I do have an idea of how to get my pictures back, not sure it will work though. If it does I will let you know what it is.

Anyway this is just a post to explain that I will still be posting, but maybe just not as often, after all I don't want to stop my dad using his laptop. Hope you all don't mind.

Talk soon

What to carry in your bag when travelling

As promised here is my post about what to carry in your bag and what make-up to take.
Normally I carry a huge bag and fill it with everything, including the kitchen sink. But obviously I can't exactly take a huge bag to Soul Survivor especially as I already have to have my roll mat on my knees on the journey back (it really will not fit into my case =/)

So this is the bag I am using instead. It is quite small but can hold so much! Which is bad when you are trying not to carry much with you ha-ha.

I always carry a book with me and I think I already mentioned that I will be taking 2 books with me because it is a long journey. This isn't the book I am taking I need to go and pick it up from the library, this is just to show you what I am taking.

Obviously you need your purse. I would actually recommend taking a smaller one but this one has all of my cards and I have a lot of important cards, not sure I'll need all of them though, but I like to be safe. I might switch everything to a smaller purse if I do I'll let you all know, but again this is just tips on what to take.

Make up time! There is practically nothing there, no eye-shadow or blusher. But obviously you can't be taking a lot of make-up with you and to be honest you probably won't even wear it everyday. You'll be lucky to wear it once, which is why I am contemplating not taking any, but if I do this is what I will be taking. L-R:  Nail file, primer, foundation, concealer, eyebrow pencil, lip balm, mascara, lipgloss, pen, tweezers Bottom: Make-up bag to keep it all in.
If I don't take all of that, the 4 things I will definatly take are the nail file, lip balm, pen and tweezers.

Finally a mini bottle of perfume is needed. This is the Far Away perfume, which is my all time favourite which also matches the body lotion and shower gel I am taking with me.

Other things you may need, which I don't because someone will be home when I get back, is keys, so make sure to leave space for those, especially if you have a lot of key-rings like me ha-ha. Also you need your phone, so that you are able to be contacted in an emergency or if you need to keep in contact with some people.

Well that is it for this post. I might try and post something tomorrow, not sure what about yet though, then that will be me until I get back. If any of you are at Soul Survivor C come and say hi :)

Packing for a festival!

Hey girlies. As promised here is my festival packing post. I'm going to post the pictures in the order that I am packing them, because I am starting to pack today. Obviously there are things which I am not packing until right before I leave but most things I can pack today :)

This is my sad and empty suitcase right before I started packing. Little did it know it was about to get stuffed haha

Ok so the first thing I packed was my blanket. This is mostly for night because I like to keep warm. However, on the last night there is a theme and this years theme is Disney. I don't have a Disney outfit so I am wearing this as safety pinned as a cape :)

For my clothes I found it easier to pack them, then take the picture. So when going to a festival you want to pack for both extremes of the weather (especially in the UK) so I have packed leggings x2 and a pair of shorts, and like 3/4 pairs of tights. For tops I am going for the fail-safe option of tank/vest tops which are comfortable and paired with a jacket or cardigan will keep you warm-ish. You want warm pyjammas and fuzzy socks for bed time, but I am also taking a jacket for bed too because I am always cold.

I then remembered shoes. I am only taking 2 pairs, wellies and sandels. I will live in the wellies but its a good idea to take sandles just encase you feel like a change of shoe. As you can see the wellies don't fit in my case so I will be wearing them on the journey.

My toiletries from top left: Baby wipes-always good to have encase you can't shower, Face cloth-obvious reasons, wide toothed comb-when you do wash your hair you need this, Mini brush-obvious reasons, Face wipes-same reasons as the baby wipes, Spot treatment-only necessary if you have bad acne like me so optional, Body lotions-when you do shower you should still try and moisturize, Mini shampoo-So you can wash your hair, you also need a mini conditioner which I am picking up tonight, Disposable razors-you still need to shave, I am only taking 3 to save space, Dry shampoo-same reason as wipes, Moisturizer-always necessary, Face wash-obvious reasons, Body wash-need something to wash with, Deodorant-well you don't want to smell, Wash bag to put it all in. Oh and don't forget a mini tube of toothpaste and your toothbrush, not pictured but still 100% essential.
I know it seems a lot but almost all of it fit into that tiny wash bag and it is all necessary, honestly.

See it all fits!

Finally you need a sleeping bag (I'm borrowing mine from a friend which is why it isn't pictured), a roll mat (I don't have one so I am using a yoga mat instead), a torch, cutlery and plates and bowls, (I'm only taking the cutlery)

This is my case all packed. I am going to a Christian festival so I have my bible and a notebook in there. I also have a book, because I love to read (that isn't the one I am taking just showing my full case) I am taking 2 books, 1 in my bag and 1 in my case, they are mostly for the journey though.
Oh yeah and you will also need towels, which for some reason I completely forgot about until just now, and I suggest taking an old phone just encase you lose it, you won't mind so much if it is an old phone.
As you can see my yoga mat doesn't fit into my case so I need to think of something to do about that, if you have any suggestions please leave the in the comment section.

I am going to do a post on what I am taking in my handbag and the make-up I am taking tomorrow so be sure to check back for that post.

Thank you so much for reading

Talk to you all tomorrow.
Keep safe.

Quick post

Hey girlies I swear I was going to do my festival packing post today, but I just went to take the pictures and found that my camera's batteries are dead, and I am going out (brave I know) in an hour so I won't have time to do it tonight. However I swear I will post it tomorrow when I get back from the hospital. I might try and take the pictures tonight so I can save time tomorrow but not promising that. However I do promise that it will be posted before 6pm tomorrow British time! So be sure to check back tomorrow.

Keep safe and DFTBA xx
