Hi everyone hope you are all well. I was planning on doing my outfit and nails I wore when I went to see this but I have a broken ankle so I didn't take any pictures of my outfit. However I have decided to wear the outfit again when I get my cast off and do a post then for you all. I also wanted a video to go with this post but I haven't gotten round to filming it yet, and I am wide awake so decided to write this, and when I upload the video, post that seperately :)
Anyway onto my thoughts on the final :( Harry Potter movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. I have now seen it twice, once the day it came out, and once today. What!? I had to see it the day it came out! And my boyfriend wanted to see it so why not see it with him? :P
Umm I love it! There are somethings I am dissappointed with, like they didn't show Fred dying (not sure if I'm happy or sad about that really) in the Princes tale they didn't show the letter (although they did do something better) they changed the kiss, and they also cut out my favourite bit from the trailer, the bit where Voldemort holds Harry and says "why do you live?" and he replies "because I have something worth living for!" I love that bit and I couldn't wait to see it in the film, but it wasn't there! Please someone tell me I am being an idiot and it was there! I have to have it there! It's my favourite bit from the trailer! Oh and another thing I didn't like was when Harry snaps the elder wand in half. Ok there are 2 things wrong with that bit: 1) it's supposed to be indestructible, so how is it able to be snapped in half? and 2) in the book Harry uses the elder wand to repair his wand, then put it back in Dumbledore's grave, how does Harry fix his wand now? That really annoys me!
Anyway enough of the negatives because although I did disagree with that stuff there was so much that I loved about it too! Like the Princes tale! It keeps making me cry. That is the scene I will forever cry at! It was so beautifully done and Alan Rickman deserves an Oscar nomination for it. I have fallen in love with Snily (thanks to my friend) and I cry at the chapter every time I read it, so actually watching it was hard. I couldn't control myself, I just sob every-time I see it. And I tear up every-time I think of it, or of Snape/Snape and Lily. Although they did it NOTHING like I had imagined, I love it anyway. I love the emotion on Snape's face in every memory. And when he sees Lily, lying there, dead, and he just falls against the wall crying, it breaks my heart and I can't control my tears. I'm actually wanting to cry now, just thinking about it. It's such a powerful scene and I literally only know of 4 people who didn't cry and they were all male, who aren't necessarily the biggest Harry Potter fans. One tiny, little, thing that does annoy me about when Snape dies is that he looks away before he dies. Yes he sees Lily's eyes one last time, but he looks away. He isn't supposed to do that, its supposed to be the last thing he sees. But like I said, it's one tiny little thing and I can get over it.
I adore McGonagall and Neville in this film, I mean I love them in all the other films, but in this one we get to see them fight, they have turned into bad-asses! and I love it! My favourite line from them, happens to be when they are together Neville says "Boom?" and her reply? "Boom!" and I just love it! I also love the way McGonagall says to Molly, after making the status come alive (mind block, can't remember the spell) and she just turns to Molly and says "I've always wanted to use that spell" the way she says it though, its like she is a little kid, all excited, and it makes me love her even more. A line I love from Neville is when he is on the bridge, and the death eaters can't get through the protection charms and he just yells "Yeah, you and who's army?" I love it. Neville has really grown up and he is so strong now. He now leads Dumbledore's Army. He truly is a Gryffindor in this film. How can you not love Neville?
Another thing I loved was Helena Bohem Carter, when she is playing Hermione as Bellatrix. The way she does it is incredible I mean not many actors can play other actors roles, if that makes sense. But Helena did a great Hermione. You could tell that it is really Hermione, throughout the entire scene and I love it so much. I love Helena so much, she is one of my favourite actresses and this just made me love her more. Isn't she just amazing though? How can you not love her?
I love how in love with Voldemort Bellatrix is, but obviously, he doesn't feel the same way, yet she won't give up. I really like that about her, she doesn't give up on what she loves. I think its a really great message that Jo put in there, even though its through one of the villains. I think that is why she did so well with Harry Potter. She teaches us something through all her characters. Not many authors do that, especially in children's books. But Jo does and that, in my opinion, is what makes her appeal to such a wide audience, and is why she has done so well.
I love JK Rowling so much. She is my inspiration and my hero. I would love so much to meet her one day. I owe so much to her, because without Harry Potter, I don't know where I would be. Harry Potter has always been there when I am down. I turn to my books to keep me sane, to cheer me up and to make me feel less lonely. It is such a huge part of me and I am so upset that it is over. But the final film may have been released, but in no way is that the end of Harry Potter, the legend has only just begun. And we still have Pottermore, and Con's. I am determined to go to a Harry Potter con. at least once in my life. I will go!
Anyway I should go I have a hospital appointment at 9:30am and it is now 1:06am don't know how I am going to be up in time but oh well.
I will be filming a couple of videos tomorrow and will be writing another post soon.
Talk soon and remember
"Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home"
Long Live Harry Potter
